"What a Genius" Lecture on F. Chopin by Helena Dobranowicz

[2010-07-20] Within the framework of the 9th International Summer Academy of Arts we invite you to the lecture "What a Genius" by Helena Dobranowicz. The lecture is a multimedia story refering to the Chopin Year 2010 that presents the life of Frederic Chopin and his music. Helena Dobranowicz is an art historian and author of artistic programmes devoted to the outstanding artists of European culture.

"Ornamento" Historical Dance Ensemble - dance show
26 July (Monday) and 28 July (Wednesday), 7 pm, admission free

[2010-07-19] Within the framework of the 9th International Summer Academy of Arts we invite you to the dance show by "Ornamento". The ensemble was established in March 2010. Among its members are participants of court dance workshops and Krakow students. The first programme developed by the ensemble is "Ballo" - a spectacle presenting medieval dance.

Kathak dance show by Alaknanda (India)
27 July (Tuesday), 7 pm, admission free

[2010-07-18] Within the framework of the 9th International Summer Academy of Arts we invite you to kathak dance show by Alaknanda. She is the Founder, Director and Guru of Kathak at Alaknanda Institute of Performing Arts (AIPA) founded in 1990. SUR SINGAR SAMSAD (Mumbai) has honored her with the title "singarmani". She is also awarded as the best dancer by Sahitya Kala Parishad. Her apprentices from the Alaknanda Institute of Performing Arts will perform with Alaknanda.

Opening of the exhibition "Dance Masters Yesterday&Today"

Dance with Figures - poetry and dance performance
24 July, Saturday, 7 p.m., admission free

[2010-07-16] Within the framework of the 9th International Summer Academy of Arts we invite you to the "Dance with Figures" poetry and dance performance. The show will open the Court Dance Workshops that are scheduled to take place at Villa Decius from 25-30 July. The performance will be presented on the Villa Decius open-air stage by Izabella Klebańska and the "Cracovia Danza" Court Ballet.

Opening of the exhibition „Garden of Queen Bona”
23 July, Friday, 6 p.m., admission free

[2010-07-15] We cordially invite you to the exhibition presenting works created within the framework of the land art workshop lead by Polish sculptor Andrzej Renes. The central topic of the workshop is the court of Queen Bona Sforza. Land art creative constructions refer therefore to the Renaissance architecture of Villa Decius. During the land art workshop its participants have worked on the creation of spatial installations that become the scenography for presentations of historical dance at Villa Decius from 24-30 July. The location where participants present their land art compositions is an open space of the Villa Decius park and palace complex, what surely can be seen as an attractive feature of the exhibition.

Legacy of Chopin. Piano Recital Kevin Kenner

[2010-07-08] The Legacy of Chopin's concert series there is one of the greatest pianists - Kevin Kenner. During the concert at the Villa Decius, celebrating Chopin’s Year in 2010, the artist will perform works of Frederic Chopin and Robert Schumann. Admission to the concert requires the production of free tickets available from 12 July at the Villa Decius and City Information Point ul. St. Jan 2nd.
