Summer Academy of Arts in Villa Decius inaugurated its activities in the year 2002.
Summer courses include:

• historical dance workshops
• Master classes for opera singers.

The workshops are conducted by leading experts and professionals from Poland, Italy, France, Germany and Great Britain. Participating in the workshops, an international group of young performers have an opportunity to perfect their technique and make contacts with great artists.

The Summer Academy of Arts closes with the participants' presentations and master performances, some of which take place in the beautiful gardens of Villa Decius.

Historical Dance Workshops
August

The workshops, organised in August each year as a part of Summer Academy of Arts, are conducted by leading professionals and experts in historical dances: Romana Angel, Philip Lemoine, Marie Claire le Corre and Marina Nordea.

They are addressed to young people from Poland and other Central and Eastern European countries, including Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Ukraine. The aims of the project are:

• popularising the idea of learning historic dance
• creating an attractive proposal of mastering artistic talents
• establishing new contacts with others who share the interest
  in the field of historical dance
• promoting the city of Krakow as an artistic venue for future projects
